About Deer Haven Golf Course:

Executive 18 hole Golf Course. Six par fours for men and seven par fours for women, the rest long par threes.

Deer Haven was built on a farmer's field on Cleveland Ave. We purchased the land in 1995 and started construction later that year. Starting out as a 9 hole course and club house, business was good. But not good enough to support our local taxes on the short season. We applied for a banquet hall but was turned down in 1995. The second 30 acre parcel was purchased in 1998, more farm land that was mostly Peat moss. Very easy to work but difficult to keep level as we would learn.

After 2 years at 18 holes, the new nine holes dried out and sank , causing us to shut it down and fix it for two seasons. Mason sand was brought in to level it out and now it is beautiful.

Then in 2001 we were offered the exciting Raven golf driving range. This was a perfect building for a banquet hall. With this we could generate revenue throughout the whole year. But the city council was all but inviting to us. But after a new Mayor and some common sense we were approved for our banquet facility. Now with this new facility we can have larger golf outings and banquets that always past Deer Haven by because of our small facility.
