We are a relatively new club and course, having opened in July of 1996. We are on land that is deep rooted in links to the past. The Club is located at the headwaters of the tributary that empties at Fairfield Landing on the Piankatank River. Our home farm, “Fairfield”, joins the golf property to the east. To the southeast, along holes 12, 13 and 14, we are bordered by the land of Woodstock. This former plantation home which dates to early republican architecture was built in 1840. The plantation has Lancaster ties having been owned and sold in 1798 by George Brent and his wife, Sarah, to James Ball of Lancaster, the executor for the John Fauntleroy estate. The current owner is Margaret F. Beckwith, widow of Robert Todd Lincoln Beckwith, Abraham Lincoln’s great grandson and last blood heir. Beckwith’s Mother, Jessie Lincoln Johnson, purchased the property in 1906.
