The Challenge at Cypress Hills in Waskom is just minutes from the state line, and is a popular course with residents of both Texas and Louisiana. Opened in 2009 and designed by Clint Mace Sr., it’s regarded as one of the best public courses in the area. The greens received a makeover in 2010 and were completely reconditioned with Champion Bermuda grass. The par 71 course is 6,762 yards from the longest tees.
