The course rating is 63.3 and it has a slope rating of 104. Designed by Mark Ormison, the Schenley Park golf course opened in 1902. Marc Field manages the course as the Executive Director with Shane Rice (Class A PGA Professional) .
Schenley Park Golf Course, renamed Bob O'Connor Golf Course at Schenley Park in 2007, is located in the rolling hills of Schenley Park between Oakland and Squirrell Hill in Pittsburgh, Pa.. It is the only golf course within the city limits.
The course is open throughout the year, from early morning until after dark, weather permitting. Three full-sized indoor simulators are available whenever the golf course is open and after dark, by reservation. Individual and group lessons, equipment, pull-cart rentals and a fully stocked pro shop are available, as well as facilities for parties and meetings.
The course was renamed for Bob O'Connor , a Pittsburgh mayor who liked to play the course and who died while in office in 2006. All proceeds from the Bob O'Connor Golf Course @ Schenley Park benefit The First Tee of Pittsburgh.
