Cobb's Creek Golf Club is site of the first public golf course in the Greater Philadelphia area and, today, houses two 18-hole layouts - "The Olde Course" and "The Karakung Course." The Olde Course is the crown jewel amongst Philadelphia's courses, having been nationally ranked as the #6 Best Municipal Course in by Golfweek Magazine. Designed by renowned course architect Hugh Wilson (architect of the famed Merion-East course in nearby Ardmore), the Olde Course is a mature tree-lined golf course that was established in 1916. Cobb's Creek has another distinction as well - it served as host to the 1928 USGA Amateur Public Links tournament and a PGA Tour event, the 1955 Philadelphia Inquirer Open.
