About Shinnecock Hills Golf Club:
Shinnecock Hills Golf Club was formed in 1891 by a group of residents of Southampton, New York. The group bought eighty acres of land in the Shinnecock Hills of Southampton and engaged Willie Davis, a golf professional from Montreal, to lay out the original twelve-hole course. In the spring of 1895, noted Scottish golfer Willie Dunn expanded the layout of the course to 18 holes.
