In 1987 celebrated golf architect Robert Trent Jones transformed the Malone Golf Club into a world-class 36-hole golf course. Taking the best elements of the existing Malone 18-hole course, designed by the legendary Donald Ross and Willard G Wilkinson, Jones added his unique design and challenge. Golf magazine had this to say about the final product: "The result was 36 outstanding holes with irrigated fairways, bent grass greens and gleaming white sand bunkers.
