Stryker Golf Course is a Military, 18 hole golf course located in Fort Bragg, North Carolina.
Stryker Golf Course first opened for play in 1946.
Stryker was built in 1946 along Bragg Boulevard in an area that previously housed temporary troop quarters during World War II. The barracks were removed and the golf course was built. Stryker’s architect was the most famous architect in American Golf, Donald Ross. Ross was the designer of many famous courses including: Pinehurst #2, Seminole, Oakland Hills, and Plainfield to name just a few. Ross lived nearby at Pinehurst and Stryker was one of his last courses.
The long time golf professional at Stryker was L.B. Floyd, the father of tour great Raymond Floyd. Ray Floyd and his sister Marlene learned to play golf at Stryker in the fifties. Stryker has also hosted the All Army Tournament and several regional events.
