Beech Mountain, North Carolina 28604-8055
Beech Mountain’s spectacular 18-hole, ridge-top golf course boasts magnificent views of mountain ranges in Tennessee and Virginia. Developed by Tom Jackson and expanded to more than 6,200 yards, the course ranges over elevations between 4,200 and 4,700 feet, so the average summer temperature rarely exceeds 72 degrees. For those looking to improve their game, there is a practice facility staffed by professionals with teaching expertise. Members have an opportunity to join various golf associations, which conduct weekly tournaments, annual championships and inter-club events. There are member-run programs for women, men and nine-holers, and couples can compete and socialize with other couples during Twilight Thursday outings.
