Welcome to the Great Southern Golf Club -- the birthplace of golf in Mississippi. The Great Southern is also among the top 20 oldest golf courses in the United States and was once a regular stop on the professional golf tour. Former U.S. Presidents and many of the great legends of golf played here (see our amazing History). The unique location overlooking the Gulf of Mexico and Mississippi Sound enhances the golf experience with magnificent sea and sky vistas and fresh ocean breezes. Designed by a world famous golf course designer in 1908 and completely updated and modernized to PGA standards in 1999, the course is challenging and enjoyable for all levels of players, men and women, and young and old. We have just completed major renovations and improvements that make the golf course an outstanding golf experience and value for members and guests.
