Great traditions survive only if they represent the ultimate in human effort and achievement.
Over the years, Red Run Golf Club has established many fine traditions, not only in respect to the great game itself, but also in maintaining a high standard of social life for its membership.
Our Red Run Coat of Arms was designed to symbolize and commemorate those traditions.
Within the shield, over a quarter background of red Scottish plaid, is emblazoned the Thistle, heraldic national emblem of Scotland, a symbol of the origin of the game.
Over the lower left quarter background of stripes is the five-pointed star, symbolic of Red Run's part in the pioneering of golf in America. The acorn and oak leaf symbolize the golfing, business, and social leadership of Red Run in the community of Royal Oak, a city which took its name from the Great Oak that once stood adjacent to the Club.
The Red Run initials are set in quarter fields of gold, the time honored symbol of gentility and fine living...Thus, we have the Red Run Coat of Arms, not alone to remind us of past accomplishments, but as a guide to greater achievements in the many years which lie ahead.
