Old Oakland Golf Club, a private club founded in 1964, has two types of membership: Golf and Social. The current owners, purchased the club in April 1987, and have provided the management services since that date. The continuing efforts have focused on improving and upgrading the course and the club facilities.
In the spring of 1988, construction was completed on three new holes (#3 West, #8 West, and #9 West) in the woods by Indian Creek. The three former holes were converted into Oakland Hills at Geist residential home sites on Royal Oakland Drive.
The 19,000 square-foot clubhouse was opened in the fall of 1990. The clubhouse offers excellent golf and social facilities including the golf shop, locker rooms, dining room, lounge and outside deck.
An additional nine holes were constructed to the south of the existing golf course on hilly and heavily wooded land adjoining Indian Creek. After opening in August 1994, this expansion has made Old Oakland a 27 hole golf club with many more benefits to the membership. The 27 holes encompass over 220 acres.
