On July 4, 1962, the first round was played at the newly constructed Twin Pines Golf Course as an 18-hole facility. In June, 1965, the switch was thrown to light the 3,012 yard back nine of Twin Pines and played the first rounds under lights until 1995, when the cost to upgrade was insurmountable.
This convenient Cedar Rapids golf course is just off the interstate and supplies golfers with an enjoyable round of Cedar Rapids golf on one of the busiest courses in Eastern Iowa. The wide fairways and lush greens have made this one of Iowa's most popular golf courses. The course is enjoyed by people of every age and ability. Juniors,This Cedar Rapids golf course is easy to walk, though a full fleet of carts are available. The Twin Pines layout is also popular for corporate outings where many of the participants do not regularly golf.
