One of the best-kept secrets of the high desert is Tierra Del Sol Golf Course. This 36-year-old Burce Devlin and Robert Van Hagge design is quite a pleasant surprise if you happen to stop in on your drive through southeast Kern County. Located just east of the Tehachapi mountain range in California City, Tierra Del Sol has some of the best weather the high desert has to offer. The golf course has some unique features of it's own with 7 holes having water come into play. The course is also a registered bird sanctuary through the state of California and it is not uncommon to see some very interesting looking birds throughout your journey around the course. Tierra Del Sol is a links style golf course in many aspects. Once you tee off on the first hole, you will not see the clubhouse again until you come off the 18th green. For those who need your snacks during the round, the Bunker resturant runs a bar-b-que located next to the 9th hole and there is a full service beverage and snack cart cruising the entire course.
